About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Go Backend Engineer to join our partner companies building the services behind fintech, developer tools, and infrastructure products. Go is the default language for cloud-native backends, and US startups consistently rank it among their hardest hires. You'll design APIs, build distributed systems, and work close to the infrastructure layer with Kubernetes and gRPC.
What You'll Do
- Design and build backend services and APIs in Go
- Build distributed systems: queues, caches, event streams, service meshes
- Write concurrent, well-tested code using goroutines and channels correctly
- Own service reliability: metrics, tracing, alerting, on-call readiness
- Collaborate with platform teams on Kubernetes deployment and scaling
- Participate in design reviews and mentor other engineers
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development, 3+ years with Go in production
- Strong knowledge of Go concurrency, context, and the standard library
- Experience with gRPC, REST, and Protocol Buffers
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and message queues (Kafka, NATS, SQS)
- Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud
- Excellent written and verbal English (B2+)
Nice to Have
- Contributions to Go open-source projects or CNCF tooling
- Experience building developer platforms or internal tooling
- Knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure as code
- Background in fintech or payments systems
